INPUT
OUTPUT
STORAGE
and
PROCESSING.

Input Devices

       The devices which are used to input necessary data and
Information to a computer is called as input devices. Some
of them are,   Key board
                      Mouse
                      Microphone
                      Scanner
                      Barcode Reader
                      Joystick
                      Web Camera
                      Light Pen
                      Pen Drive etc…

Output

     The devices used to get processed data and information
 out are output devices. We can get an out put through two
 ways. They are soft and hard.We can get softout put from
monitor,projector,speaker and pen drive etc…. We can get
hard outputs from machines like printers.

Processing

            Processing units can also named as Central
Processing Unit. It can be devided into three parts.
·      Control Unit

·      Arithmetic and Logic Unit

·      Memory Registers

Control Unit
All the controlling of the computer is done by thisunit. This controls all  the devices of the computer giving therequired commands when necessary.
Arithmetic Unit
This performs all kind of arithmetical calculation
and logical operations.
             Memory Registers
The memory registers are included in the processing processing unit and it stores the data which are ready to the Central Processing Unit for calculation or processing.

Speed of a Computer

            Speed is also called as clock speed.The unit is hertz (Hz) . Mega hertz(MHz), Gega hertz(GHz) are used to measure speed of modern computers.

1000HZ    =  1kHZ
1000KHz  =  1Mhz
1000MHz  = 1GHz

        The maximum Bits used for calculations or storing at a time is considered to measure the capacity of the Central Processing Unit. This is also called Word Size of the computer.

Storage Devices

          Storage Devices which are used to store data and
information are also called Backing Storageand
 ExtraMemory. Some of those devices are,

·      Hard Disks
·      Compact Disks
·      Digital Versatile Disks
·      Pen Drives

THE END
